Welcome to Mom’s Beach Retreat located in the luxurious 1000 acre Pointe West Resort on the western tip of Galveston Island. This beautiful new upscale resort provides the best of both Beach and Resort worlds to make it easy for a busy family to relax and have fun.

IKE Update: While our unit received almost no damage and is fully up and running the following are still damaged from IKE at the resort. Please check here for updates.

Beach Club: All ammenities except the upstairs bar are back in operation. The showers at the beach are not working due to the dune walkovers being repaired. As of 5/4/09 the main hot tub at the beach club is being repaired - it should be back up within the week hopefully. The lazy river is up and running and so is the hot tub there.

Dune Walkovers: All walkovers were damaged, including the main one from the beach club. Permits are due back 2nd week of May for repairs to begin. Right now one walkover about 2000 yards west of the beach club is open. The beach club walkover while "closed" can still be used at your own risk by jumping down 2 feet at the end.

Elevators: ALL Elevators at Pointe West were destroyed by IKE. Flood insurance money has been slow coming in. Once funds are received repairs will begin. Odds are good that the elevators may not be working the entire summer - it depends on how fast repairs can be made and which units are repaired first.

This 3 bedroom / 3 bath condo is brand new with high-end upgrades. Granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances, crown molding and two decks – one to watch the beach and one to watch the bay and sunsets. 3 FULL bathrooms means less waiting for everyone to get cleaned up after a fun day at the pool and beach.

We are right next to the sought-after Pointe West Beach Club and walkway to the beach – no long walks to access the amenities. The Beach Club has an Infinity pool with poolside service, Hot tub, Kiddie pool with splash pad, Fitness center, a Game room for the kids and an on-site Restaurant. If you are tired of cooking simply order from the restaurant. Just what Mom needs to help her relax! An outdoor roof-top bar is a few steps around the corner for grown-up relaxation.

The Pointe West Beach is one of the nicest on the island – beautiful sea grass mounds and clean sand groomed and raked almost daily during the summer months like expensive Florida resorts. There are no cars allowed on this beach so there are no fumes, or people driving right next to you and your family trying to enjoy the beach. During the summer months there are children’s activities provided by the resort. There are bike rentals available to ride the many bike paths both on the gulf and bay side. The Bayside resort a few minutes across the road (which you also have access to) boasts a Lazy River to float down, lagoons to kayak in, as well as pool bar to refresh yourself with.

The Master suite (with King bed and TV/DVD) has a separate outside door to the patio to see and hear the beach at night. A 6 ft. large closet in the master provides ample storage for all your clothes and luggage. A shower and jetted tub in the Master bath allow you to relax and get the kids ready easily after at day on the beach. The Second bedroom has a Queen bed. The Third bedroom has Bunk beds and Double futon as well as its own bathroom. A Queen sofa Sleeper is in the Main living area with a Twin sofa Sleeper in the 2nd Kids living area. A Pack and Play is provided for those Moms who need a crib and do not want to bring their own with them. This 1717 sq.ft condo has enough space to accommodate up to 11 people. All new stainless steel appliances: microwave, stove, coffeemaker, dishwasher, large refrigerator with ice maker, Fully stocked kitchen, full size washer and dryer as well as an ironing board and iron just in case

A Kids living area has it’s own TV/DVD/VCR so large families can enjoy multiple activities. Wireless high speed Internet is provided as well as Free Local and Long Distance calling and lets you stay connected if you must. Elevator access means no more hauling luggage up flights of stairs. One assigned covered parking spot insures you always have a place to park. There are other parking spaces available around the units for additional guests. . Seven Seas grocery store is a short drive away so you don’t have to drag all your food with if you don’t want to.

Other recreation opportunities are plentiful. The new Schlitterbahn Water Park, Moody Gardens Science Museum and Aquarium are nearby, NASA Houston Space Center is an hour away. Downtown Galveston is where you can visit the Seawall, the Historic Strand Shopping District, Hurricane Museum, Cruise Ship Ports and Restaurants galore!
